Santiago

Santiago

Age: 2
Guayaquil, Ecuador

Santiago is a very spontaneous and sweet boy who has grown up in a family of artists. His mother, Adubell, is a circus performer and his stepfather, grandmother, and uncles are all musicians.

From the day he was born, Santiago has been surrounded by guitars, pianos and microphones. He has been stimulated into a creative environment, in which he has developed a passion for singing. His dream is to become a musician like rest of his family. But his cleft palate, which prevents him from breathing and pronouncing his lyrics correctly remains a major obstacle.

After his mother heard about Global Smile Foundation on the radio, she brought Santiago to the Leon Becerra Hospital in order for him to have the surgery that would allow him to achieve his dream.
The doctors of GSF corrected little Santiago’s cleft palate, that will help him breathe, speak, and ultimately sing properly. The medical team shares Santiago’s dreams of the future, performing his music with the people he loves most.
