Junior Global Smile Foundation’s (GSF) Junior Board, founded in 2019, has grown and now has three chapters: High School, College, and Ambassadors.

The High School Chapter is a passionate group of students from around the world interested in learning about GSF, cleft care, and global health. Members work collaboratively to plan and conduct group fundraisers and can also choose to hold personal campaigns. Through teamwork and individual leadership, high school members help expand awareness of GSF’s mission while making a meaningful impact in their communities. Officers were elected at the end of 2024 and are:

  • Aishani Artha & Julien Liu, Co-Chairs
  • Carter Comolli, Treasurer
  • Elena Leonard, Membership
  • Samantha Shadi, Swag
  • Matthew O’Neill, Social Media

In 2024, High School Chapter members conducted several fundraising campaigns to support outreach medical programs, facilitated an educational webinar entitled Global Smile Foundation’s Approach to Global Cleft Care Webinar, and began planning a 5K event to take place in July 2025.

The College Chapter offers older students the opportunity to actively support GSF’s mission on their campuses. Members mentor the High School Chapter while also leading and participating in fundraising efforts, both collaboratively and independently. In 2024, Reina Katergi started a GSF Club at her school, John Carroll University. The Club is hosting a fundraising dinner on April 25, 2025, on campus.

The Ambassador Chapter is designed for young professionals who want to volunteer and support GSF beyond their corporate or graduate school work. Based in Boston, this chapter provides an opportunity for individuals aged 21 and older to be GSF advocates, fundraisers, and potential medical volunteers. Members participate in both educational programs—introducing GSF to colleagues, participating in research—and social programs, attending fundraising events to promote GSF and connect with like-minded peers.
