Oscar in 2017 and one year later in 2018

When Oscar was born with a cleft lip and palate, his parents worried about how they would care for him. Not only is access to basic healthcare limited in El Salvador, but Oscar’s parents found little information about cleft. To make matters worse, they were devastated when others made fun of how their baby looked.

Global Smile Foundation (GSF) was able to help. When he was 4 months old, Oscar’s family traveled for 3 hours to meet the GSF team at Benjamin Bloom Hospital in San Salvador and receive care for their son. After his surgery, his mother shared her immense gratitude that her “angelito” would be able to smile, eat, and someday speak like other children.

You can help transform lives with a year-end donation to help provide comprehensive cleft care for children like Oscar on the January 2019 GSF mission to San Salvador, the same place where Oscar continues to receives care.

Your donation will directly fund the expense of the San Salvador mission: surgical supplies, dental supplies, medicines, and hospital resources. The 10-day mission to San Salvador will cost more than $80,000 and we need your help to make this mission possible!

Together, we can transform lives for so many families whose children need comprehensive cleft care. Thank you for your support and your gift of smile!
