Our Esmeraldas Story
Esmeraldas is a costal city in northwest Ecuador and is an important seaport for the country. In 2011, GSF collaborated with the Ecuadorian Navy on a Mission Trip to the area. Hospital Naval provides services not only for the Ecuadorian Navy, but also dedicates resources to underserved patients in the area.
2011 Mission Statistics
The last Mission Trip to Esmeraldas was September 9-18, 2011. The team screened 46 patients and was able to perform 36 corrective surgical procedures as well as 25 psychosocial consultations. There were zero complications and excellent outcomes from this mission.
